CBS RENEWS "NCIS," THE #1 TELEVISION DRAMA SERIES IN THE U.S. AND WORLDWIDE, FOR TWO MORE SEASONS
"NCIS" STAR AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER MARK HARMON SIGNS NEW TWO-YEAR DEAL
CBS announced today that it has renewed NCIS, the #1 television drama series in the U.S. and worldwide, for two more seasons, and that series star and executive producer Mark Harmon has signed a new two-year deal.
"It's extraordinary that in its 13th season and with over 300 episodes to its credit, NCIS continues to excel at such a high level on a global scale," said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. "It is testimony to an amazing cast, led on and off the screen by the exceptional Mark Harmon, for skillfully bringing this universally appealing team of heroes to life; and to Gary Glasberg and his writers for crafting compelling stories that feature NCIS's signature blend of mystery, quirk, drama and comedy every single week."
Currently in its 13th season, NCIS is a member of the exclusive 20 million viewer club. The drama is averaging 20.47 million viewers, up +4% from a year ago and on pace to finish the season as network television's #1 drama for the seventh consecutive year. In key demographics, NCIS ranks in the top 10 among adults 25-54, averaging 4.6/13, and is in the top 15 in adults 18-49, averaging 3.1/10. Also, NCIS ranks in the top 10 among time-shifted programs, gaining nearly +4 million viewers with 7-day playback.
NCIS is also an international hit, licensed in more than 200 markets. For the past two years, it has been awarded the International Audience Award by Eurodata TV Worldwide and The Monte Carlo Television Festival for being "the most watched drama series in the world." It is a top performing U.S. series in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden and in the UK, among other countries.
NCIS premiered on CBS in 2003. During the 2009-2010 season, it became the #1 drama/scripted program on television, and has remained the #1 drama ever since. |

â" Season 4 of original Canadian drama wraps production today in Vancouver â"
â" Season 4 guest stars include Jon Heder, Will Sasso, and Tommy Flanagan â"
â" CraveTVTM First Look available March 21, the day before CTV's broadcast premiere, with Seasons 1-3 streaming now â"
VANCOUVER (February 12, 2016) â" CTV announced today that multiple Canadian Screen Award nominee MOTIVE is set to face its last round of investigations, as the series returns for its fourth and final season Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 22 on CTV and CTV GO, following a CraveTV First Look starting March 21. Wrapping production today in Vancouver, the final season brings the story of the series' dynamic homicide team to a powerful conclusion as they continue to explore what drives the motive behind the murder in 13 unforgettable new episodes. MOTIVE was nominated last month for nine Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Dramatic Series.
In the final season, each member of the homicide team faces pivotal choices about their future, as they set on a course of deciding what they want their legacies to be. Canadian Screen Award nominee Kristin Lehman (THE KILLING) returns as Detective Angie Flynn, who leads the team through a season of big change and evolution: Detective Oscar Vega's (Louis Ferreira, BREAKING BAD, SGU STARGATE UNIVERSE) new role as Staff Sergeant means adjustments for everyone; Angie and Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny, THE ASSISTANTS) develop a deeper bond; Dr. Betty Rogers (Lauren Holly, NCIS), who is personally involved with Vega, must now mind the boundaries of her personal and professional relationship; and new detectives are introduced to the team.
Building on its roster of incredible guest stars throughout the series, Season 4 of MOTIVE continues to showcase a fantastic line up of seasoned actors with appearances from Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite); Will Sasso (SHAMELESS); and Tommy Flanagan (SONS OF ANARCHY), who guest stars in a recurring role as Interpol Agent Jack Stoker.
"We're proud to have had the privilege of bringing this compelling and innovative crime format series to CTV audiences for the past three seasons." Said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV.
"MOTIVE is primed to leave an indelible mark on the Canadian television industry and its creative family here at CTV," said Corrie Coe, Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. "Both clever and cinematic, each episode is exceptionally well-written with smart performances from its ensemble cast. Lark Productions, Foundation Features, and the series' creative team led by showrunner Dennis Heaton have delivered a dynamic final season."
"We are grateful to our broadcast partners at CTV for four incredible seasons of MOTIVE," said Executive Producers Louise Clark and Rob Merilees. "Thanks to the exceptional talent and efforts of our writers, cast and production team, we are thrilled to conclude our finest season to date. Season 4 builds towards its conclusion with even more compelling performances and intriguing cases."
MOTIVE also stars Victor Zinck Jr. (THE 100) and Karen LeBlanc (CRACKED), who join this season as new detectives on the series' homicide team.
In the Season 4 premiere, entitled "The Vanishing Policeman" (Tuesday, March 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), while Detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Staff Sergeant Vega (Louis Ferreira) adjust to his new role, the suicide of an officer with whom Angie and Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny) worked on a crime scene turns the team's investigation into a hunt for a cop killer.
CTV's top Canadian Screen Awards nominee for two consecutive years, MOTIVE once again garnered nine nominations for the upcoming CSAs, including Best Dramatic Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. Season 3 was watched by an average audience of 1.2 million viewers, a 15% increase over Season 1, landing the series among the Top 4 most-watched Canadian dramas last season. All past episodes of MOTIVE are streaming now on CraveTVâ¢.
MOTIVE is produced by Lark Productions and Foundation Features in association with Bell Media. Executive Producers are Dennis Heaton (CALL ME FITZ, Fido), who also serves as the Season 4 showrunner; series creator Daniel Cerone (DEXTER, THE BLACKLIST); Louise Clark (CORNER GAS, HIGH MOON); Rob Merilees (Stone of Destiny, Brain on Fire); Erin Haskett (THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF VANCOUVER); Rob LaBelle (MENTAL); Lindsay Macadam (Brain on Fire); and Ben Brafman (PERSON OF INTEREST, DEFYING GRAVITY). | Angel from hell canceled by CBS, No season 2 | 2016-02-15 by thepoperope | Angel from Hell | discuss | | Angel from hell Canceled by CBS, No season 2
Deadline reports the following
"CBS is making a change on Thursday. Midseason series Angel From Hell, starring Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson, is being cancelled effective immediately. It aired five episodes of its 13-episode order. Starting next week, the single-camera comedy will be replaced by multi-camera veteran 2 Broke Girls, which will return to Thursdays where it aired last season. (A Big Bang Theory repeat will fill Angel From Hell's Thursday 9:30 PM slot this week.)
2 Broke Girls will make its Thursday season debut the following night, Feb. 18.
Angel From Hell, starring Lynch as a young woman's (Lawson) caustic guarding angel, was originally slated to debut as part of CBS' post-Thursday Night Football lineup in November but its launch was pushed to January. There had been rumors about creative issues on the high-concept series, which has drawn modest ratings for CBS' Thursday comedy block standards, in the 1.3-1.4 rating range among adults 18-49 (live+same day).
The 2 Broke Girls move takes care of the remaining episodes of the fifth-season comedy." |

From Executive Producers Carlton Cuse ("Lost") and Ryan Condal ("Hercules"), Drama Stars Josh Holloway ("Lost") and Sarah Wayne Callies ("The Walking Dead")
Co-Produced by Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions
UNIVERSAL CITY, CA â" February 4, 2016 â" USA Network announces a second season renewal for the Carlton Cuse ("Lost") and Ryan Condal ("Hercules") drama COLONY. From Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, COLONY centers on one family's struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles. Starring Josh Holloway ("Lost") Sarah Wayne Callies ("The Walking Dead"), episode four of the 10-part season one airs tonight at 10/9c.
"Carlton and Ryan have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided," said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network.
"COLONY's performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can't wait to see where the story takes us."
Over its first three episodes, COLONY has seen an average combined L3 audience of 3.4MM P2+ (two same-night telecasts of each original episode). Additionally, more than half a million people sampled the series' pilot during a targeted, two-week pre-linear release on select digital platforms including
USANetwork.com, Hulu, the USA Network App and VOD.
Set in the very near future, COLONY's world is a dangerous one of divided ideologies. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel and suffer the consequences. After being separated from their son during the invasion, former FBI agent Will Bowman (Holloway) and his wife Katie (Callies) are willing to do whatever is necessary to be reunited with him. Thus, when the powerful Proxy Snyder (Peter Jacobson, "House") offers Will a chance to get his son back if he will collaborate with the occupational government, Will and Katie find themselves faced with the toughest decision of their lives. They will have to go beyond whatever they thought possible, risking their lives and their relationship to protect their family.
The drama is a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions. COLONY airs Thursdays at 10/9c on USA Network. |
